Bear Drumheads are the product of over twenty years of research and development. Our products were first designed and introduced in 1977 and were on the market as Duraline for a short period of time. As often happens with small companies, they run out of money and have to sell, and the new owners never have the same passion for the product that you do. Well that's exactly what happened.
We have waited until now to re-design an almost perfect product. We have recently applied for several new patents. You may ask, how could you make an almost perfect drumhead even better and apply for new patents? Good question. We have re-designed the hoop and the coating to produce a line of drumheads that is beyond anything on the market.
THE MINDS BEHIND BEAR PERCUSSION
Daniel Muchnick - Chemist
He has no idea of how to play the drums, but he's one hell of a chemist. Dan learned from the best. His Father, Sam Muchnick. Dan says he's going to continue to make the very best drumheads on the market. We all think he's full of himself but we like him anyway. We would also be happy if he took some lessons.
Peter De Bear - Frustrated Drummer
Peter knows enough to be dangerous, and is. Peter is in the Video Post Production business as well as being a writer/producer. He has never played with anybody who was anybody but he knows a lot of people who have.
Peter and a great gentleman, Sam Muchnick, were the originators of the original Kevlar drumhead. Sam also invented the Mylar drumhead for Remo. Sam always felt that there was more, and he was right.
SAM - THIS ONES FOR YOU!!!
